Karl Cassell is President of Horizons, a human services organizations, in Cedar Rapids

“I have known Miyoko Hikiji since we were children, and growing up together in the same neighborhood on the Westside of Cedar Rapids. I have been able to witness the unwavering commitment to her community, state, and country. With service in the U.S. Army, and 403 days of tour duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom, then re-enlisting in the Iowa Army National Guard, it is obvious that Miyoko cares deeply about the nation.

As an employee of a human service agency, I am grateful to see her advocacy work done on behalf of veterans, children, and comprehensive services in employment, transitional housing and mental health services.

It is with great pleasure and pride that I endorse Miyoko Hikiji for District 20, she is such a strong Iowan, working on behalf of our state for all individuals and who will continue to exhibit leadership and vision.”
